Year: 2011

Platform: Windows, Mac OS, Linux

Genre: Sandbox

Publisher: Mojang, Microsoft Studios, Sony Computer Entertainment

Developer: Mojang

Notes: Minecraft’s Hour of Code tutorial pack is available in Te Reo Māori, which is not only cool but also actively encourages Māori to engage in STEM. Te Papa, the Museum of New Zealand, has teamed up with Minecraft to create the ShakerMod initiative to teach youth Earthquake preparedness. Lastly, I’ve also included screenshots of builds from Lt_Peanut and Whetu Paitai, which beautifully inject Mātauranga Māori into the world of Minecraft.

Overall Rating: This is a great example of informed, community-driven collaboration. Highly recommended.
