The Mark of Kri (2002)

Year: 2002

Platform: PlayStation 2, PlayStation 4

Genre: Action-Adventure

Publisher: Sony Computer Entertainment

Developer: SCE San Diego Studio

Notes: Play as Rau Utu, a Polynesian warrior sworn to protect the sacred Marks of Kri. This appears to be an immensely popular and immersive game, which sadly also heavily lifts from Māori culture without any sort of consent or consultation efforts. Also, what’s up with this advertisement for the game? Kingi Gilbert (now a game developer in his own right) protested against acts of appropriation in the game.

Overall Rating: This looks interesting, but why don’t you check out Kingi Gilbert’s games with Ignite Studios, instead?
